I thought before we actually decide on moderators, maybe we should decide what they do. I mean of course they will moderate and uphold any rules decided on, but there are other questions/thoughts too, like:
1. How many moderators should there be?
2. Should they cover all the time zones(as much as they can)?
3. How many hours a day/week should they be modding?
4. Are they supposed to read every post out there on every thread? Or do they wait til someone reports a post as a violation of the rules? (I think wait til something is reported. Can you imagine trying to read EVERYTHING on dGeek? That would take an army of mods)
5. Will the mods be cleaning up dGeek or are the admin's taking care of that?
6. We have threads in other languages than English so we will need mods that speak those languages.
7. Should mods be anonymous or known?
8. Should mods have a Mod screenname that they mod with?
(I think whether they are anonymous or not, they should have a Mod screenname)
9.?
Questions to ask yourself/think about if you want to be a mod:
1. Why do you want to be a mod on dGeek? If you don't really want to be on dGeek and care about it...what are your reasons to mod here? Are you doing it to get closer to David? (sorry to be blunt but this is a huge concern of the Squirrels)
2.Will you be able to abide by the rules of dGeek?
(when we actually make them..lol)
3. Will you be able to politely/kindly mod people here that are your friends?
4. Will you be able to be fair and not show favoritism when modding?
5. If there's someone on dGeek that you don't get along with, will you be able to mod them in a fair and respectful way?
6.?
I'm sure there are many more great questions/thoughts on this...so please post them and I'll add them and update this post.
